Spores

Spores. 2024

Typewriter keys, microscope lens cases, beeswax.

4 x 14 x 45 cm

This work reflects on the power of language and its ability to represent knowledge. From the keys of a typewriter, an alphabet was constructed in the shape of an inverted pyramid. Although writing cannot encompass or express the totality of thought, it remains one of the most powerful tools to materialize it. We are invited to meditate on the use of words: their potential to construct or destroy, legitimize or censor, reveal or conceal. Words, like spores, are ready to germinate depending on how and by whom they are used. The work also proposes a metaphor about how we read ourselves in the undefined text that is life.
