Over the years, the collective portrait, as a form of representation, has documented the different strata that make up society. Its group structure has consolidated ideological expressions, identity constructions, and the cohesion of sisterhoods, also allowing for the recording of multiple generations, each with its own ideals. The work is based on a photograph taken of a kindergarten classroom in Havana during the 1940-1941 school year. After isolating the faces of each child, AI was used to reconstruct their current appearance. The piece proposes creating a temporal juncture between the image of a small generation of children as promises of a better future and that same generation, now consumed, defeated, worn down by the years.
